A little while ago I told you guys that I would be starting a series called, “Backyard Vacations,” that is centered around all of the awesome opportunities that we have at our fingertips, technically in “our backyard” on Hatteras Island and all around the Outer Banks. It’s easy sometimes to get caught up in our day to day things that we forget the beauty and adventures that surround us. So these post will be fun and might inspire you to do something on our islands that you haven’t done in a while! Whether it be kayaking, horse back riding, fishing, exploring, off-shore fishing, surfing, jetskiing, building, kiting, beach adventures, trips to ocracoke and so much more!
This past weekend, I told the kids, my nephew and niece that is…..that we would go on a beach adventure. Of course we had the pups too, Buxton and Frisco 🙂 We packed the car with a couple blankets, snacks, “our” cameras, and the pups and we were off for a Buxton beach adventure. It’s amazing how much the lands can change between storms and seasons. The air was crisp, the sun was warm, and ocean was so beautiful. Little baby waves crashed on the shore as they ran past and Buxton would jump right into the ocean. Buxton’s signature move once he jumps in the ocean is to completely lay down on the sand as the wave is washing back down….. haha it’s pretty hilarious.
Our adventure this weekend wasn’t too crazy or didn’t involve much hard work…just simply enjoying being outside in nature on the beaches in November…ya can’t beat it. I love home.
